About This Course

This course builds on your foundational fitness knowledge and prepares you for work as a qualified Personal Trainer. It combines theory, practical coaching and client-focused planning to give you the skills and confidence to work independently or in gym settings. You’ll learn in a professional environment with expert tutors and outstanding facilities.

What You’ll Learn

You’ll deepen your understanding of anatomy, physiology and nutrition, while learning how to assess client needs, set achievable goals and design progressive training plans. The course also covers client communication, behaviour change, and how to build and manage a successful PT business.

Where It Can Take You

After completing this course, you’ll be fully qualified to work as a Personal Trainer in gyms, studios, or freelance. It also opens doors to specialisation in areas like Pre/Post Natal, Strength & Conditioning, or Exercise Referral.

Course Structure

Delivered part-time, this course blends face-to-face practical workshops, guided learning, and independent study. You’ll complete a mix of written coursework, practical assessments and client-based programming tasks, all supported by experienced tutors.

Is this course suitable if I haven't done the Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification?

This course builds on Level 2 knowledge, so if you haven't already completed a Gym Instructor qualification, you'll need to do that first - either separately or as a combined course.

What kind of clients will I be qualified to work with?

You'll be qualified to work with a wide range of general population clients - supporting their goals through personalised training, coaching, and lifestyle advice.

Can I work for myself as a Personal Trainer after this course?

Yes - the course gives you the skills and credentials to work freelance or start your own PT business, as well as work within gyms or fitness organisations.

How much anatomy and nutrition knowledge is covered?

You'll gain a solid grounding in key anatomical systems, exercise science, and applied nutrition - all tailored to help you work effectively with clients.

Will I be designing full programmes for clients?

Yes - you'll learn to create and deliver tailored training programmes based on client needs, goals, and abilities - with a strong focus on safety, progression and motivation.
